Peter McVries from The Long Walk. Hands down. The only one who comes close is Scott Landon from Lisey's Story.

I have a ton of favorites from King's stories... but those are the top two. :3

(ALSO, HAPPY BIRTHDAY STEPHEN KINGGGGGGGG. XD)

Okay, I'm currently finishing two short fanfictions. One, Louis and Ellis (Left 4 Dead) out on a Special Infected-infested food hunt together. Two, Jaina visits Tenel Ka (Star Wars) after Caedus' death. And wow, both of these have slightly slashy undertones. WHAT IS THIS?

But then I have a few more ideas for stories that are eating my brain. And I'm not sure which one to work on.

1.) [ SW ] Jaina, babysitting the dear niece of hers, gets a visit from Jacen in the middle of the night. Talking ensues. Also, possible hugs. (post-LotF)
2.) [ SW ] Caedus needs assistance in reaching Tenel Ka to talk to her and makes his one supar sekritt double agent from Hapes help him achieve this. Said agent is a mere male and a social secretary and takes care of Tenel Ka's schedule and his name starts with a G. I think some of you can see where I'm going with this. (mid-LotF)
3.) [ Stephen King ] Scott Landon and Mike Noonan are signing autographs at a literary conference, chatting it up and goofing off, unaware that odd things have happened in both of their home lives. Lisey approaches, Scott gets his special brand of mushy/pushy on and Mike gets nostalgic. (post-Bag of Bones, pre-Lisey's Story)

Plus, I am actually still chugging along on the SW long stories: Absolved (third in a trilogy of lol terror started in 2003, Jacen/Tenel Ka, lots of insanity plus some Jared Leto, Rachel Weisz and Mos Def ...what? And 100% more assassination attempts!) and The First Time (post-LotF, TK/Zekk[/Caedus...?], angry crack).

And there's all the original things swimming around my head, naturally. I currently have six files sitting on my hard drive of long stories I've started but none of them are sparking as much as I want them to. I know there's this idea I'm horribly ready to work on and it just hasn't surfaced in my head yet. COME TO ME, IDEA. O_O

Let's ride a completely different train of thought! Here are some random pictures from my phone.

This is my new baby, the STAR HOME LOLOLOL. No, for real. That's my new car and I love it to bits.

These little gems are things I found on the deep corners of the internet and had to buy them because of my obsession love for this book. I would tuck these in with me and sleep with them if I didn't think I would roll over on them and ruin them. The one on the left is an original 1980 U.K. first edition printing of The Long Walk, while the one on the right is an original 1979 U.S. first edition printing. The covers~ <3333333333333333333333333333333333

(LOL THE LONG WALK IS IN THE GREAT TRADITION OF ROLLERBALL, YOU GUYZ. :O Hehe.)

Also something of note: Garraty, Olson, Harkness and Baker all appear on the U.K. cover. Stebbins and McVries are nowhere to be found (unless McVries is the 6_ way behind Garraty). I say they're making out/killing each other behind the halftrack. And I'd like to think the U.S. cover is a gigantic spoiler and Stebbins is featured on it. XD

Oh my god Frank Darabont, pleeeeease work on/finish The Long Walk sooooooon. Best movie ever.

(And please please please put Stebbins in the actual outfit he is wearing in the book: He was skinny and blond, wearing purple pants and a blue chambray shirt under an old green zip sweater with holes in the elbows.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSS <333333 XD)

One of my resolutions was to keep up on all the RPs/Dressing Rooms I'm in, yes? HERE IS WHERE I GET MY HEAD STRAIGHT WITH THEM. In Revelry Junction, I am debating on picking up either Harry Mason or James Sunderland from the Silent Hill series, but I haven't decided yet.

Also, if you're a fan of RPing and see characters you want characters of yours (depending on the game, lol) to interact with -- these games are all open to join. I would absolutely love to see more Silent Hill characters, Myst characters and King characters in the multi-fandom games -- and I would loooove to see more BioShock going-ons in the BioShock game!

Seriously, if you don't watch Supernatural, you should watch it for this alone: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eldB3a5Aa6E

Jared's laugh at 10 seconds in kills me. And them on the bike. And the scooters. And falling over in the field. ksdjfakjskfjsdf that was such an amazing episode, lololol. The theme song just brought it home.

Here is another fun video to watch!: http://www.rickey.org/?p=27521

The group routine from So You Think You Can Dance last week. It is pretty damn creepy (WADE ROBSON WHAT <3) and it's to one of the new Imogen Heap songs. I don't know, sometimes he just makes these routines I have to watch over and over again (ZOMBIE ROUTINE CALLBACK)~ this one was great; I love the way he makes everyone move. Their motions are disturbing/awesome/WHY CAN'T I LOOK AWAY? Everyone was totally on it and akljfsd Russell. <3

Okay, I wasn't able to fall asleep till three last night (IT WAS PET SEMATARY'S FAULT I FINISHED IT AND OFDMISFJDHJDFH KING I LOVE YOU). So maybe I should go to bed now. D:

Alright, so I'm reading Pet Sematary and of all the King books I've read, this is the one that's creeping me out the most. The way it deals with death (of family and pets) and mortality is really, really getting to me. It's not even the WE WILL BURY THE CAT IN THE PET SEMATARY AND IT WILL COME BACK AND EAT YOUR FACE oh no no. It's Church getting hit by a truck and then me looking at my own cats -- it's Gage Creed and Victor Pascow and vehicles and accidents.

As I was driving to work yesterday morning, there was an SUV driving in the lane to my left a few car lengths ahead of me. I saw a green car come careening out of a perpendicular side street to the left across the road we (myself and the SUV) were on, and swing out to turn right (he never stopped at the stop sign and was going really damn fast). I don't know what kind of fucking crack this guy was smoking, seriously. He clipped the back of the SUV and then braked hard and stopped in front of me, facing me, about ten feet away. I saw the airbags go off. The SUV spun around in a few circles, almost tipped over, but managed to stop in the middle of the road.

I have no idea when the last time I held my breath for that long was, but I know I didn't let this one out until the guy in the SUV got out of his car, followed by the douche who shot out of the side road.

For real, where did you get your driver's license, dude? A Cracker Jack box?

So you know where my mind went when I witnessed all of this.

I need to finish Pet Sematary before it's all I dwell on.

Nate says we should go to Sonic today. This is a good thing. CHERRY LIMEADE, WE ARE DRIVING THE 45 MINUTES TO GET YOU. <333 PREPARE YOURSELF.

I am back from Mexico! Here is a list of random things (vacation and not) that I can't put into a nicely formed entry correctly lol.

1.) I got to swim/train/goof off with dolphins one of the days I was there and my Mom and I were nerding the whole time. I got to belly ride across the big pool on Linco the dolphin and he was so cute and jdfajkdjfakdfjksdjfksfjasdkfjaksdfj it was really fast and I was freaking out and DOLPHEEEEEEEEEEEEENS <3

2.) Ronnie singing the Jonas Brothers while a little tipsy is something I want as my ringtone. BAAAAAAAAYBEEEHHHHHHHH

3.) I will post a few pictures from the trip soon. Cozumel is very pretty. Hurricane/Tropical Storm Ida kind of went around us but gave us some crazy wind.

4.) Celebration V is definitely not going to be in Baltimore, meaning I most likely will not be going. Unless it is in Orlando. Then maybe I will go for a day or two and hit Disney World the rest of the time. XD

5.) NEW STEPHEN KING BOOK TOMORROW.

6.) Downloading the Left 4 Dead 2 demo right now.

7.) Last night when Mom and I got home the cats were like O_______O? OH HAY WAIT IT'S YOU GUYS. Then they proceeded to get in our suitcases.

8.) Just watched the episode of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia from last week. Kitten Mittens Mittons were hilarious. And DICK TOWEL! http://www.dicktowel.com (NSFW LOL)~

I AM GLAD TO BE BACK. NOW TO CATCH UP ON THE FRIENDSLIST. XD

HI THERE. This is Until The End, a fanmix on Peter McVries -- #61 in Richard Bachman Stephen King's brilliant 1979 novel, The Long Walk.

Pete has always been my favorite Walker and The Long Walk has pretty much been my favorite book since I first read it over a decade ago. I have made/posted fanmixes for The Long Walk in general (see Final Warning) and The Musketeers aka Ray/Peter/Art/Hank (see The Four Shot) -- and I also run a small fansite dedicated to the book... so as you can see I've always been a little enamored with this book.

Just a little. :P

Anyways, here is a fanmix for Peter McVries. I went from a fanmix for the book, to one for four of the central characters, to my favorite character -- meaning you'll probably see a couple of familiar songs on here if you've been around for the other two LW fanmixes. Yay for tying things together and all that jazz! But yeah, this is all Peter all the time and the feelings on Ray, Priscilla and the Walk in general.

It turned out to be a kind of creepy mix of songs, but once I listened to it all a few times, I felt it just worked.

followed the sun till night -- UNTIL THE END // a Peter McVries fanmix )

WHOOP WHOOP oh yeah, check here for any old fanmixes you might want. Stephen King, Bioshock, boys boys boys, Jacen Solo crack, crack, Myst, Persona, Resident Evil damn I love making these. I LOVE MY MUSICS. <33333

XD
tenel_ka: ([ king - never tire ])
Nate and I went to see Zombieland last Wednesday night (this would've been posted sooner but my internet has been out SINCE THEN :| -- it is still not back, I am on ANOTHER COMPUTER/INTERNETZ LOL). It was a fun movie -- funny and gory and sweet and all that jazz. I don't know why there are craptons of people comparing it to Shaun of the Dead though. Just cause it has zombies? I guess? Nothing touches Shaun, IMDB nerds, I'm sorry. They are nothing alike except for zombies.

(The cameo in Zombieland was amazing. Especially the wheezing breath at the end.)

I finished Carrie by (duh who else) Stephen King. omg I know there are characters I hate -- but effing Chris Hargensen, you guys. I wanted her to die so bad. She was such a bitch. I love how King can make characters I really love (Scott Landon, Lisey Landon, Peter McVries), characters that are absolutely darling who I want to take home (Chris/Teddy/Gordie/Vern, Nick Andros, Alice Maxwell), characters I love to hate so hard (Stebbins, Gary Barkovitch, Nadine Cross), characters you really feel for (Carrie White, the whole Landon family, Edgar Freemantle, Sara Tidwell, Jack Torrence) and then the characters who are just such assholes that you want extremely violent things to happen to them (Christine Hargensen, Mrs. Carmody, Jim Dooley). Love it. I also love the payoff you get when King actually rips the asshole characters to shreds (suck on that, Christine Hargensen).

I've read books where I kind of like some characters, some kind of annoy me and some I'm completely indifferent towards. I want to feel something for the plot/characters when I'm reading a book -- not wonder what I'm having for dinner as I'm scanning the words and then realize, "WHOT I THINK SOMEONE JUST DIED?"

King accomplishes this with flying colors. I want to go to a Scott Landon lecture, I want to have a sleepover and giggle about boys with Sue Snell (before the Chamberlain massacre, preferably), I totally want to make out with Peter McVries HELLO (OM NOM NOM SCAR), I want to stay at the Overlook Hotel, I want to shop at Needful Things, I want to jump in the Royal River jksdfjsdfjsfdj <3333

(AND TEDDY DUCHAMP'S GAS STATION~ <333333 AWWWWW.)

Next post I will be gushing about a book I am currently reading, teeeeehehehehehe.

And I have realized I can't listen to this song without thinking of Jacen/Tenel Ka. I'm not really sure why. They're just what my mind goes to whenever it comes on. I THINK IT IS AN ANTHEM OF MY OTP IN THEIR CURRENT STATE. I MUST TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE THINGS THE SONG DOES TO MY MIND.
tenel_ka: ([ king - skin it ])
Alright, so I'm debating between two costumes for Halloween. I think I've already talked myself out of one of them though (for now, till I get more time to actually do it right).

It's between the Witch from Left 4 Dead.

And Carrie White from Stephen King's Carrie.

Now, the morning after Halloween -- very early -- we're leaving for Mexico because it is vacation time. So I don't want to do anything too time-consuming. Especially since I have to help set up the yard and take all the stuff down after everything is over. Witch: I realized getting all the makeup on my face, legs and hands, along with putting the claws on and stuff, would be way too much. Not to mention afterwards taking it all off. With Carrie, I get a cheap dress, cover it in fake blood and then on Halloween night dump more fake blood over my head. Clean up? I peel the dress off and stand in the shower for a good 20 - 30 minutes with some soap and some shampoo.

Also, the Witch has wicked nails/claws. Which I already have. I bought some the same time I got my Hunter claws. But we all saw what happened with me and Hunter claws and taking an hour to get them off at Dragon*Con -- plus I couldn't do anything in them. SORRY KIDS, NO CANDY FOR YOU.

SO I HAVE TALKED MYSELF INTO CARRIE, I THINK.

Aaaaaand I am really, really horribly in the mood for Silent Hill costumings. ANYONE WANT TO GET TOGETHER FOR SOME FUN PHOTO TIEMS LOL? I think a Silent Hill costume will have to be taken to Anime USA this November.

But which one? O_O (Mary/Maria hybrid? Finally get Lake Josh done? Bring Heather back? Memory of Alessa? Henry? Walter? WHAT DO I DO? D:)
tenel_ka: ([ king - never tire ])
So in my 498548593248 time reading The Long Walk (in reality it's probably like my twenty-something time) I've realized I end up finding new things in each read and find myself paying attention to different aspects of the characters and different relationships, etc. Like this time for some reason I just keep thinking of the Walkers female counterparts -- sisters, mothers, girlfriends. Sure, you hear about Ray's girlfriend Jan and his mom a bit, also Peter's ex-bitch ex-girlfriend Priscilla and a bit about his little sister -- then there's Percy's mom, of course.

But for real, think about how the mothers and all them feel about their boys doing this. Signing up to go walk with a 99% chance of getting a bullet to the head. It hurts a little. There's no way in hell I'd want my boyfriend or son or brother doing that. D:

Another thing I love about this book are the characters, of course. I love that they all have their flaws (except Baker, lol, he's such a sweetheart) -- McVries has mood swings, Olson gets cocky, Parker is a bit of a bitch, I shouldn't even have to mention Barkovitch and Stebbins. Even Ray says some stuff that's not too sweet. And that's why I love them. They're not perfect, they're not the best guys in the world and that's why they're so relatable/<3-able. Then 99 of them go and get killed. :\

SPEAKING OF THE LONG WALK: We have five Long Walkers for Dragon*Con! McVries, Baker, Harkness, Olson and Abraham WOOOOO!

I'm gonna make the new numbers next weekend. Anyone else want in? We will have bullet holes for yooooou! And a number! All you need is the belt and canteen and depending on who you are it's usually normal clothes. Let's see who is left. There's Stebbins (blue shirt, purple pants, green vest, lol), Barkovitch (the mean bitch XD), Scramm (he's married, you know) -- hell, we don't have a RAY GARRATY. And there's 91 others! XD
tenel_ka: ([ king - in the future ])
"He just can't get enough," Pearson said tiredly.

"Huh?"

"Almost two hundred and fifty miles," Pearson groaned. "My feet are like lead with poison inside them. My back's burning. And that screwed up McVries doesn't have enough yet. He's like a starving man gobbling up laxatives."

"He wants to be hurt, do you think?"

"Jesus, what do you think? He ought to be wearing a BEAT ME HARD sign. I wonder what he's trying to make up for."

Time for my yearly re-read of The Long Walk! XD

Objection?

Jan. 12th, 2009 06:57 pm
tenel_ka: ([ sw - otp ])
So I have a good bit of work still to complete in the middle of The Feigned: Absolved but I've finished up the ending that's been in my head for awhile. The whole series starts with Jacen Solo waking up from a pretty crap ass dream and the whole series ends with him falling asleep one night. IT'S A BIG HAPPY CIRCLE (lol, okay maybe not happy?). Actually, I didn't mean to do it that way. The whole falling asleep at the end just worked with what was going on.

I also randomly gave Gadell a middle name (that Zekk will be a dick about). It was an odd moment, cause he was being brainstormed about five years ago this past October. And I just now gave him a middle name. It's more than people can say for Zekk. D:

(Zekk: Wait, that's your middle name? Kind of girly, huh Mr. Vessau?
Gadell: Oh yeah? Is that funny? And what's your middle name? Oh oh, or your last name?
Zekk: ...
Gadell: S'what I thought, Mister Zekk.)

Aaaaaaaand Zekk/Gadell/Tahiri = OT3 OF GUMSHOE GLORY. LET'S WATCH SECURITY FOOTAGE TOGETHER~ <3

I forgot how much I love writing Jacen Solo/Tenel Ka. And I forgot how much I enjoy writing jealous!Jacen and slightlykindofemotionallyopen!Tenel Ka. Leering!Jacen is fun too. D:

So, I have found that I am drawn to any Scotts and Peters that come from the mind of Stephen King. Obviously, there is Peter McVries -- I was also a sucker for the brief and bitchy teen angst we got from Pete McFarland in The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon. And there's Scott Landon, of course (I love him, yo) and now there is a new one.

Scott Staley. The short story he was in was amazing. It's called The Things They Left Behind and it's about this guy, Scott, who worked at an insurance company on the 110th floor of the World Trade Center. He wasn't at work on 9/11 and this story is about him and a bout of survivor's guilt. The way he deals with it is what drew me to him first -- and then I found out his name was Scott and was like, DAMMIT KING WHY DO YOU DO THIS TO ME? :O The story is one of the best in the new collection, IMO -- alongside Willa. Although, I haven't gotten to N. yet, and I heard that one is incredible.

I think it's time for some ice cream. Also, I don't watch 24, but my mom watches it and I kind of know what's going on every season. Tony Almeda? Got so skeevy looking. He used to be so cute. D:
tenel_ka: ([ king - never tire ])
So Peter McVries is pretty damn fun to RP (well, ramble as -- on fandomNET and the King Dressing Room, there's no actual ACTIONS involved in those two). I'm so used to voicing proper bitches like Jacen and Tenel Ka and all that that I never get introduce them to other characters in such fun fashions as:

"Peter. Peter McVries. You can call me Pete. Or Mister McVries, maybe. You look kind of young." --- "And I just gave you every option, so what are you going to call me if it's none of the things I listed? Petey? Petersaurus Rex?"

And Jacen Solo would never talk of an abandoned town like so: "It's like a deserted town that's slowly being... serted. Or something. Heh, I just made up a word."

I also finally got the Sam/Tenel Ka thread moving, MUAHAHHAHAHHAHAAHHAHAHHA~ And now that the holidays are over and everything has settled I can go RP crazy once more (CURRENCY IN REVELRY JUNCTION FINALLY, RIGHT GUYS XD). AND WRITE SOME EFFING STORIES LIKE I HAVE BEEN MEANING TO WHAT.

Also, chocolate covered cherries (a box of ten) were on sale today at Target for 37 cents. I love me some after Christmas sales.

(I don't know what Silent Hill costume to bring to Dragon*Con this year. D:

242 DAYS LEFT, LOLOLOLOLOL~)
tenel_ka: ([ king - in the future ])
So my pictures from fanmixing yesterday made me think...

Under this cut, I cast five Stephen King books (along with rambles and reasonings). These are dream-castings, obviously, since they will never happen and some of them can't happen (like casting River Phoenix or a younger Jensen Ackles). Also, The Dark Half already has a movie, yes, but I had a wacked-out dream about this casting and it flipped me out and I would kill to see it. It would be THE BEST THING EVER.

LOL, what the shit is this casting Zac Efron twice? Of all people, Zac Efron? XD And if I ended up casting Duma Key as well then I would've casted the whole Winchester family! Hehe~ I can't for the life of me think of anyone for Wireman though. IDEAS, ANYONE?

YAY FOR SEXCELLENT PEOPLE UNDER THE CUT. :O

Lisey's Story, Bag of Bones, The Long Walk, The Dark Half & Cell )

I think that was bad cause now I want to go reread this hot, hot stuff all over again. Along with Nightmares and Dreamscapes, Needful Things... *continues to ramble off books*

<3333333333333333333333333333 WHAT.
tenel_ka: ([ king - sowisa ])
IT'S ANOTHER LISEY'S STORY FANMIX. I COULDN'T HELP IT, MY GAWD THIS BOOK.

I'm SUPAR SRS, check it out. PREVIEW IT (ALRIGHT, IF YOU WOULD WORK PLEASE, GOOGLE BOOKS). Search for "completely hemmed in" and read that. It may seem like a spoiler but it's not. The back of the book blatently says Scott Landon is dead. And that's not how he dies. Not there.

I also love this: So now come the things they will never speak of later, not to others or between themselves. Too awful. Each marriage has two hearts, one light and one dark. This is the dark heart of theirs, the one mad true secret.

dksljaskldjaskljdkasjdkasjdkajsdaksjdaskdskssak landons <3

SO, TO BEGIN: Welcome to my second fanmix concerning this lovely book. The book is Lisey's Story by Stephen King and after rereading it for the 39842938493 time, I thought it needed another fanmix. The first one I made was called SOWISA, and it dealt with the whole book -- this one, called Holler You Home, focuses more on Scott and Lisey, which is the most gorgeous and engrossing aspect of this story.

I'm a visual kind of dork, so I set this fanmix up like the last one, with pictures and quotes. As far as pictures go, I used Kevin Zegers and Jennifer Connelly again. I don't know. Whenever King mentioned Scott or Lisey's dark hair (the comma of dark hair on Scott's forehead = <3) and Lisey's blue eyes -- these two just stuck in my mind. Plus, Zegers plays tortured well and Connelly has that all-around amazingness thing going for her. I love them both, you guys. D:

(Plus, I will never stray from my silly Zac Efron-as-Paul and Kevin-Zegers-as-Scott thing -- LOOK AT THEM IT WOULD BE PERFECT D:~ Although, Zac Efron is already Art Baker in [livejournal.com profile] king_dressing -- OH MAYBE I SHOULD BRING IN PAUL AND CONFUSE EVERYONE --- [/tangent])

ANYWAYS, I hope you enjoy this fanmix if you are a fan of the book, and if you have no idea what this book is then I hope this fanmix might give you the urge to check it out. It's kind of a "WHAT...?" read at first, but once you get into the bulk of it, it's amazing.

(NOTE: If you want any individual tracks, you can ask for them and I will upload them for you! :D)

[ YES, THE DEAD DO LOVE ] )

This book eats my brain, dudes. And I welcome it.

And this set of songs is FULL OF SOME OF MY FAVORITES EVER AND THEY FIT AND IT ALL WORKED OUT BEAUTIFULLY AND STUFF. :O

I also apologize in advance for typos and the like. It's almost 3 a.m. and this thing was done so I figured I'd put it online. Hehe~ I WILL PROOFREAD TOMORROW AFTER I GO PASS OUT.
tenel_ka: ([ king - skin it ])
So I'm switching between Needful Things by Stephen King and then his new short story collection Just After Sunset -- I'm absolutely loving both.

"Willa", the first story in JPS, turned me into a mushy little puddle of goo cause it was so gorgeous. It's funny, cause I read that and it was sweet and genuine and adorable and just dude (King admitted he was a romantic -- with "Willa", Bag of Bones and Lisey's Story, I see it and love it)...

Then I turn to Needful Things (which I will admit, was kind of slow for me at first) and two women have just stormed out of their houses, pissed off and in some sort of daze, met on a street corner and hacked each other to death -- one with a cleaver and the other with a knife. The Sheriff, Mister Alan Pangborn (NEEDFUL THINGS AND DARK HALF, REPRESENT), shows up and knows there's something else going on besides just, "LOL that bitch imma kill her" and suddenly I can't put this book down. LELAND GAUNT, YOU CARD.

(Leland would totally have green eyes when I went to see him. And he would probably sell me a first edition of "The Long Walk" or something -- then he would have me pull a prank and I would get killed in no time flat. SORRY, LELAND.)

KING, WHY ARE YOU SO AWESOME?

LOL: "It occurred to me that in the eighties, everything had come with a price tag, that the decade quite literally was the sale of the century. The final items up on the block had been honor, integrity, self-respect, and innocence... I decided to turn the eighties into a small-town curio shop called Needful Things and see what happened."

WORD.

THIS TUESDAY.

STEPHEN KING'S NEW COLLECTION OF SHORT STORIES: JUST AFTER SUNSET.

"Who but Stephen King would turn a Port-O-San into a slimy birth canal, or a roadside honky-tonk into a place for endless love? A book salesman with a grievance might pick up a mute hitchhiker, not knowing the silent man in the passenger seat listens altogether too well. Or an exercise routine on a stationary bicycle, begun to reduce bad cholesterol, might take its rider on a captivating -- and then terrifying -- journey. Set on a remote key in Florida, "The Gingerbread Girl" is a riveting tale featuring a young woman as vulnerable -- and resourceful -- as Audrey Hepburn's character in Wait Until Dark. In "Ayana," a blind girl works a miracle with a kiss and the touch of her hand. For King, the line between the living and the dead is often blurry, and the seams that hold our reality intact might tear apart at any moment. In one of the longer stories here, "N.," which recently broke new ground when it was adapted as a graphic digital entertainment, a psychiatric patient's irrational thinking might create an apocalyptic threat in the Maine countryside...or keep the world from falling victim to it."

YESSSSSSSSSS.

ALSO SET FOR RELEASE, ABSOLUTELY BLESS THEIR HEART ADORABLE HALLMARK-TYPE WIBBLY OF HAPPY CHRISTMAS MOVIE WITH JARED PADALECKI LOOKING REALLY EFFING HOT (OHMYGOD THE SCARF). IT WILL BE MINE TOO.

Okay, the ESPN Sportscenter ads are ALWAYS hilarious, but they really knocked it out of the box with this one, for obvious reasons: The new ESPN Sportscenter ad featuring Stephen King. He is a huge baseball fan (Red Sox what) and props to ESPN for swiping him for an ad. XD

The Star Wars one is hilarious too.

Now y'all know I hate me some Boba Fett. But this is how much I love my fandoms...

There was a post awhile back on a message board titled something to effect of, What has your nerdiest moment been? (I previously referenced it here with another nerdy thing. XD)

As I thought about this again, there was another one that stood out in my mind -- now I'm sure there's a billion -- but this one is super-fantastic-nerdcore-tacular.

At Katsucon a few years ago, before the Masquerade, they were playing some videos. And a video came on and the music was Fett's Vette, by MC Chris -- a song clearly about Boba Fett. Yet the video they were showing was footage from the Jango Fett video game Bounty Hunter. So I'm sitting there, saying to myself, OUT LOUD, MIND YOU:

"WHAT? THIS SONG IS CLEARLY ABOUT BOBA FETT. HOW COULD YOU USE FOOTAGE OF HIS FATHER WHO HAS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ARMOR AND TRY TO PASS IT OFF? YOU COULDN'T GET FOOTAGE OF BOBA FETT? OH WHAT, JUST BECAUSE HE'S A FETT, YOU CAN USE HIM FOR A SONG THAT IS MOST DEFINITELY NOT ABOUT FETTS IN GENERAL, BUT A SPECIFIC ONE? WHAT THE HELL. THIS IS NOT AMUSING. THESE PEOPLE DON'T KNOW WHAT THE HELL THEY'RE DOING."

Yeah, I think that's the big one. Later that night I was kind of like, "Did I really bitch about that...? Wow, I'm a nerd." Then I remembered I was at an anime convention and was like, "ROFL WHATEVER FELLOW NERDS, LET'S GO DANCE!"

Speaking of being nerdy, this is roughly what Ashley and I are doing next year at some point in June. XD

AND, QUICK! NAME THIS GUY:

YESTERDAY WAS STEPHEN KING'S BIRTHDAY~ SO HAPPY BIRTHDAY UNCLE STEVIE! XD

And I don't know how many of you watched the Emmy's last night. It was pretty lame, like awards shows usually are, but the Ricky Gervais and Steve Carell bit was awesome. I have no idea how Carell managed to keep a straight face that whole time.

WORD!

McVries: "Hail Mary."
Stebbins: "Full of grace. Help me win this stock car race."
McVries: "Come on. Don't be a wise ass."
Stebbins: "My ass is no wiser than your ass."
[ pause ]
Stebbins: "Well, maybe a little."
McVries: "Pick 'em up, put 'em down, shut your mouth."

(YAY UNCLE STEVIE~ XD)
