We're putting the gap in there so you won't have to read about the angst and grief our main characters experience [after the events of LotF]...

BECAUSE WE ONLY CARE WHEN THEY'RE HAPPY AND TOTALLY UNHUMANLY EXCITED AND ADVENTUROUS ALL THE TIME?

OMG, yes, and they're always kind of pointless. Hopefully they'll be filled in in the future though with other books and stuff.

I would love to know about Jacen's crazy five year Force journey.
