OMG so I'm sitting here all snotty and bawling my eyes out from happy. I was on facebook and I was randomly searching for old friends of mine and I searched for my friend Heather Parsons. We were totally inseparable all through Elementary school. She lived down the street from me, we played All The Damn Time and in second grade we had the same lunchbox and nerded out about it. I mean we were like wtf.
She moved after sixth grade and it just sucked after that. Starting middle school without my best friend was total shit.
My sister babysat for her and her older brother and I would go with her and we would watch Adventures in Wonderland and we would wrestle with her brother and seriously beat the shit out of each other. We would try to form snowball fights with the neighborhood next to ours. We would try to be twins on Twin Day during Spirit week at school. Same names, same denim overalls, same keds, white turtleneck. Then we'd get pissed at the Pavone brothers who always won BECAUSE THEY WERE ACTUAL TWINS and we would get equally pissed off and call CHEATZORING.
Her and Chris, her brother, and I would sit up in his room and play Zelda: A Link to the Past, and fucking F-Zero. We would build forts on the hill in front of the house and then go in the ditch behind the houses and sing the fucking Fred Penner song. Whenever one of us was running home from the others house, we would yell after the other to run faster because "THERE'S A WILD DOG AFTER YOU, HEATHER~"
One night she had her light on in her room and I flipped mine on and off a couple times then ran back to the window -- she did it right back, and we sat there and flipped our lights on and off down the street to each other for who knows how long for No Fucking Reason at all, some kind of damn code we didn't know and didn't even bring any of it up the next day cause it was just something cool that happened. We would eat flavored ice and sit in on the edge of her bed in front of the mirror and do the Heather & Heather show where we just acted like tools. When we got bored with Barbies, we would make Barbie a stripper and turn her house into a club. And HOW COULD I FORGET THE EVIL BERT DOLL?
Well, I could never find her on facebook. Maybe I wasn't looking hard enough, but I said fuck it and went on google. I squealed. And her brother, the boy I hit with a stick and was forced to apologize to, the boy who thought he was better than us because he had an Adventures in Wonderland poster hanging in his room. He's a photographer now. And just damn. They've changed so much, I'm kind of afraid to contact them.
I miss those days. Sometimes I wish I was little again, then Heather could help me with my homework and tell me that she knows how to spell BOUGHT.
"BOUHT." XD
(I forgot to mention we had all of Clue memorized and would dress up and recite the movie in the living room while we watched it. <333)
