GEHN IS A TOOL.

So, my replay of Myst for the Great Video Game Heist '08 has led me to reread the Myst novels -- since I have no more schoolwork and have finished Invincible, I am now free to read LOTS OF STUFF.

I'm only on like page 102 of Myst: the Book of Atrus and this book already had me wibbling twice. Gehn makes me want to strangle something and I know when I start playing Riven, he'll just make me even more angry.

People always say the Skywalker/Solos need therapy, and the Bluths need therapy (yessss), and the Petrellis need therapy and so on, but oh mah gawd, this family...

Generation / Kahlis + Tasera
[Okay, you guys are okay as far as I know. I need to reread BoT for clarification. But...]

Generation / Aitrus + Ti'ana (Anna)
[WAY TO PARTAKE IN BRINGING DOWN A WHOLE CIVILIZATION. I love me some Aitrus and Ti'ana, dude, they broke my heart. But when she was pimping Veovis' freedom, I was like WHAT KIND OF DUMBASS CRAP-- OH HELL NO! THAT WILL BITE YOU IN THE ASS. And it did, cause an ASSLOAD OF PEOPLE DIED.]

Generation / Gehn + Keta (Leira)
[Keta died in childbirth, we don't know much about her. But Gehn is a TOOL. It's nice you want to rebuild D'ni and all, but dude, you don't steal your son away from your mom (when she's been the one taking care of him for fourteen years) and then later in life try to steal YOUR SON'S WIFE. TWICE. NOT TO MENTION THE TRYING TO MURDER YOUR SON THING.]

Generation / Atrus + Katran (Catherine)
[These two are pretty normal. But get hit with the whole Han & Leia scenario -- aka THEIR CHILDREN ARE BATSHIT CRAZY.]

Generation / Sirrus, Achenar & Yeesha
[OH MY GOD WHERE DO I START? Sirrus loves him some wine and drugs and money, Achenar loves him some death and poison and skulls and electrocution and poor Yeesha is like MADE TO REPLACE THE BOYS. Which is awesome, cause then they come back from their prisons and KIDNAP THE SHIT OUT OF HER. Sirrus wants to USE HER MIND and Achenar wants to STOP SIRRUS and they HATE EACH OTHER SO BAD. And I kind of want them to KISS AND MAKE UP. The seething hatred between them is so awesomely palpable in Myst and they NEVER HAVE A SCENE TOGETHER. Also, I WANT THEIR SCHEMING MEAN LITTLE BABIES. I don't forgive that name swap though. SIRRUS HAS THE EMO HAIR.]

So yeeeeeeeeah, I think out of all my fandoms, this family is the one that needs the most help. And damn, DO I LOVE THEM FOR IT. EVIL LITTLE HEARTS. <3

So what you're saying, in essence, is that in the face of this question, to fight Evil in the form of Luke Skywalker or to become Evil himself, Jacen Solo should have made the decision to stand firm?

If this was how it was really meant to be then I will STAND BEHIND LOTF AND LOVE IT WITH ALL MY HEART.

But if this just all magically fits together then it's still a jumble of meh-stuff to me.
