So. Video games. Last Friday on a whim at Best Buy, I bought the Orange Box for the Xbox (lol) for $20. Over the weekend I realized this is perhaps the best $20 I have ever spent. And I haven't even gotten a chance to play Team Fortress 2 yet.

(Anyone want to help me get out of the n00b stages on TF2? I don't really want to jump in on a game where people have been playing forever and screw everything up, lol. Plus, I want to play as the Sniper so bad, you have no idea. He is SO ADORABLE.

"Wave goodbye ta yer head, wanker!" <333333)

I mean, I had faith when I picked it up cause it's Valve and you know... Left 4 Dead, come on. But I didn't realize how amazing I would find it. I spent an hour Friday night on Portal. Then two hours on Half-Life 2 on Saturday (and am currently foaming at the mouth to play more). And another 45 minutes on Portal Saturday as well (and then of course multiple hours on L4D later, duh, thanks Valve). I'm close to beating Portal and tempted to get the one on XBL Arcade because of it's 14 extra levels.

This is where this puts me on all my video games. Games I am in the middle of: Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne (first playthrough), Grand Theft Auto III (second playthrough), Final Fantasy VII (third full playthrough), Left 4 Dead (just... always), Half-Life 2 (first playthrough), Portal (first playthrough), Mass Effect (first playthrough), Fallout 3 (first playthrough), Resident Evil 5 (first playthrough), Silent Hill 2 (like... 27th playthrough).

Six of those are on my GVGP09 list (I added two games to it today -- 42 seems like a good final number ;D). So I guess I'm doing okay. hehe.

Now. Team Fortress 2. ANYONE?

Orange Box is so great. Like you stated, it's one of the best values in modern gaming. Valve makes extremely tight products. Now that I've sampled more of their wares, they've become one of my favorite developers. Good stuff, although lack of split-screen co-op on TF2 is an epic fail. If both me and V could do it up at the same time with you, I'd totally let you purchase me the XBOX version... ;) :P
