DRAGON*CON 2009 REPORT - W. & T.

tenel_kaSO HERE IS THE BEGINNING OF MY RECAP!!11 First, before I get into anything I just want to do a little bit of <3.
IT WAS SO GOOD TO SEE YOU THUGS: You know who you are. Roomies, YJK/Sith peeps, LJ peeps, JUST ALL OF YOU. If I came in contact with you this weekend, trust me, I was really happy to see you. <3333
And a huge thank you to: Nate, Ashley, Sara and Emily -- who were all awesome photographers when I was unable to take pictures of myself cause then they would be myspace pictures. And for being roomies of yay too, of course. XD

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2ND:
When Nate got to my house that night (around 6, if I recall correctly), we pretty much made sure we had everything, packed up any costume stuff he had left at my house and then met Ronnie and Erin at Shopper's to get snacks and stuff for the weekend. I got some Oatmeal Creme Pies, some little cookies -- we both got some Pringles. And of course, the C BOOST.
(Somehow neither one of us has been sick since the con. Not sure if it was the C BOOST WOO or the sleeping most of the day Monday or what, but we seem to be fine. I was also taking boatloads of vitamins beforehand and chugging OJ everyday. BUT THANKS TO YOU TOO, C BOOST LOL.)
After we wandered around Shopper's with Ronnie and Erin, they checked out how packed Nate's car was and we parted ways, saying we would see them over the weekend. Nate and I headed to the gas station near the on-ramps for 95 and bought a bag of ice for the cooler and after filling it we set off for Atlanta (or about halfway). It was around 7:30 when we got on the road.
LOOK HERE IS SOME RICHMOND FOR YOU:
After Richmond we switched over to I-85 and stuck it out on there (which we would be taking into ATL). Once we were almost out of gas, we decided to stop and get some and that was around 12:30 -- that was also the time we were like MAYBE WE SHOULD GET SOME SLEEP TOO LOL.
So we ended up stopping in a little town called Archdale in North Carolina. We stayed at a Holiday Inn Express and it was pretty damn fancy. The TV actually had inputs (hello Xbox 360, I wish), a not-so-mini fridge and a microwave. I wanted to take those three things and bring them to the Marriott with me but I refrained. We passed out and then the next morning woke up like stupid little kids on Christmas morning going HOLY SHIT DRAGON*CON and OMG FREE BREAKFAST!!11
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 3RD:
We rushed downstairs and it was like there was a light shining down from the heavens on this breakfast spread they had going on. There was both hot and cold breakfast items, juice, coffee, cereal, etc. HERE IT IS. LOOK AT IT'S MAGICALNESS.
The cereal thing was awesome (it's hiding behind the cooler on the left). It was pretty much TURN THE SPIGOT FOR THE CEREAL YOU WANT. I stood there for ten minutes like, "what do i want omg muffin, omg bagel, omg banana, omg orange juice, omg wait there is scrambled eggs" -- finally I picked some food out and took it back to our little table to eat it. After stashing some stuff to bring it with us, we got back in the car and continued to Atlanta. Once we were nearing the city...
YES. Then we got closer and I started snapping pictures of the skyline. We arrived at the hotel around 2:30. They helped us with our luggage and I went to check-in and spelled all five names of the people in our room. She automatically gave me double beds since I admitted there were five people in the room, which was awesome cause I was asking her if I could get them and she basically whispered, "We're not supposed to give them to people who ask but I'm giving them to you since you admitted to having five people in your room." (This is apparently cause there are donks who try to get double beds when they have like two people in the room and then there are five people in a room with a King bed. :|)
After we got all the luggage into the room, I began jumping around like a tool cause we were officially there and checked in and I turned on the TV and they were testing out D*C TV and I was so excited omg omg. I started unpacking while watching the same three test clips on D*C TV over and over again but I didn't care that it was the same three cause WE WERE THERE AND READY TO GO.

I took a shower, washed my hair and then after getting dressed it was only a little while before Ashley, Sara and Emily showed up from the airport and we had a FULL ROOM AND AN EFFING PARTY CAUSE HOLY CRAP IT WAS DRAGON*CON TIME!111 We couldn't get a rollaway bed since we had double beds, so Sara said she didn't mind sleeping on the floor and borrowed Nate's sleeping bag so she could make herself a nice little fort over in her corner of the room. XD
We went to get our badges and stood in line for two hours. Apparently the line I ended up in (it was like Bristol - Caffey or something) was the Longest And Slowest Line Ever. So my wait was more like two and a half hours. But once that was over it was like ALRIGHT YOU'VE PASSED YOUR TRIAL NOW YOU GET A WHOLE FOUR DAYS OF ABSOLUTE AMAZINGNESS, GOOD WORK!!11
That door back there is the one we entered through pretty much two hours before this picture was taken. :|
The five of us went to the food court and got Moe's after that ("WELCOME TO MOE'S~!~~~~ MOE'S!!!!!!!!"). And this was when Nate and Emily decided to be weenies about Moe's and say Chipotle was better, which I can't eat at Chipotle cause it's like the hipster version of Taco Bell and the Starbucks of Mexican food and it bores me and I don't approve and I made that known to everyone at the table. If the food court was full I would've gone all Spartan on everyone about how Fake Mexicany Goodness = Moe's (real Mexican was had when I went to Mexico, lol) but I was too hungry to be like, "TONIGHT. WE DINE AT MOE'S!!11" So I just scarfed more of my free chips and queso and my burrito. This is me scarfing. And that is Nate whining about Moe's in the background. Or just giving me a special look at my scarfing of the chips.
When we got back into the hotels, I promptly saw these costumes and freaked out and had to take a picture.
*sings* "BIIIIIG TROUBLE~ IN LEETLE CHINAAAAAAAAA!"
I had to change into my YJK Tenel Ka outfit after that to meet up with some darlings I will share with you in a few, but before I did that we had some time in the room to finish up some last minute costume things. And by last minute costume things I mean taking Sara and Nate's Long Walk shirts and making sure they had the right amount of blood on them.
And look, there is Ashley advertising a BOTTLE OF BLOOD! Sold at your local Halloween store!
THEN IT WAS TIME FOR THE YJK PHOTOSHOOT WOOOOOOO!
I had my old trusty Tenel Ka outfit on,blood_sorbet (Natalie) was mini!Tahiri, dracomalfoy05 (Kayla) was mini!Jacen and miss_jaina (Cavalyn) was mini!Jaina! It was lots and lots of fun and we goofed off and took all kinds of pictures.
TK is not amused with the snake on her head. :|

Here is a cute picture of Jacen, Jaina and Han. Everyone was cracking all kinds of fun jokes and I just went, "OH HEY WHERE'S YOU'RE LITTLE BROTHER-- OH THAT'S RIGHT, SORRY. TOO SOON?" That was the kind of humor going around and it was awesome to be able to say this kind of crap around other Star Wars fans who share that same sense of bitter, sardonic love like I do.
Another awesome thing that happened at this point was finally meetingrurouni_jedi/Shea. I have had her on my friendslist for YEARS now and IT WAS LIKE A BIG FANGIRL FEST.
Shea was in her Invasion comic!Jaina outfit and her and I got a picture together, which we had to retake cause we were the same height in the first one. And we all know that Jaina is apparently a shrimp. So we took it again with me on a stair! XD
(She also told me she thought I would be taller and she said I carried myself like I was at least 5'7" in my pictures and I wanted to cry and hug her for that cause holy crap I always feel like I'm so short.)
AND HERE BE MY DARLING JAINAS AND MY DARLING TAHIRI~ <3333
THEN KYLE AND GANG (I am too lazy to type you all out, but you know who you are and I <3 you, lol) CAME FOR A VISIT. It was awesome cause apparently they had talked to Emily and said they were coming up to visit. I guess Kyle thought I was in the room already cause the elevator opened on their floor as we were going back upstairs and everyone was standing there and they couldn't get in with us cause there was a bunch of people. But I leaned around the guy I was standing behind and just stared at them all creepy-like. Kyle sees me and goes, ".......... WE WERE JUST COMING UPSTAIRS TO SEE YOU ....?"
As you can see, horrible things like this happen when everyone gets together. That is Chewbacca in the laps of Mace and Bones. Oh, that Chewbacca.
Once they left, Sara and Ashley had to go to bed since they were getting up super early for the Nimoy/Shatner panel the next morning. So the rest of us decided that we should probably do the same too. WE HAD TO BE READY FOR OMG CON WEEKEND WOOOOO!

I'm hoping I will be able to go next year, though. I want to try my hand at cosplaying Yuki (her Persona 2 appearance), now that hopefully Persona 1 is getting more attention.
