SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 4TH, 2010
We all woke up with visions of the Parade in our heads and we met Valerie downstairs to go out and find a spot. There were so many people outside (most of which were people who were just like LOL FREE PARADE!) we ended up not getting a spot right on the street like normal, but I didn't really mind. I stood back next to the Brooks Brothers store with Valerie and Nate and we blabbed about all kinds of things - we also counted, in shock, how many Ghostbusters cars there were. I love me some Ghostbusters just as much as the next person, but 8 Ghostbusters cars? When did the GB suddenly get super popular? XD
Valerie and I did marvel at the cartoon Egon though, that was the best. <3
The Netherworld gang and the Mad Max/Road Warriors both had amazing showings, as usual. The Zim and Dib and tiny Gir were great (WHY IS HIS HEAD SO BEEEEEG?)~ And the double rainbow guy was the shiiiiiiz. Don't even get me started on that song, lol. The autotuned one. We were all singing it all weekend since they were playing it on D*C TV. I hadn't even seen the actual video till that weekend, but I had heard about it so much that I felt like I had. When I finally did watch it... it was just about what I expected, hahah. XDDD
Here are some awesome costumes we saw on the way back to the room from the parade! And also a couple pictures from later in the day~ :D

A Splicer! Except this is one of the creepy Fort Frolic plasterish Splicers, so bonus points FOR BEING EXTRA AWESOME AND CREEPY. XD

Erin and Beth looking amazing in original outfits (Beth's is her Lion Tamer and Erin's is not steampunk, hahahahah XDDDDD)! ERIN, YOU ARE SO SCANTILY CLAD LOLOLOL.
After the parade, we all got into our ARRESTED! DEVELOPMENT! costumes and tooled around. We went to the artist alley (I bought an adorable robot plaque) and the art show. This is where Nate saw PUPPETS! Now, Nate has always been a fan of puppets. He grew up on the Muppets and Fraggle Rock and all that jazz so he's always been a nerd for that sort of thing. Near the end of the art show, we came upon a table that had statues and clay pieces and stuff to bid on. There were also two puppets - one red and one blue/purple. He saw them, stood there for a moment and suddenly exclaimed, "I want to bid on these. What do I do?"
We were all like, "...buh?" Cause there are times when Nate says he wants to do something but then is like, "Nah... I won't worry about it." Or finds some other reason why he doesn't need to do something. I do this too. But he was really adamant about these puppets. Valerie pointed him towards the counter where he needed to register and he handed me Franklin and strode off towrite a strongly worded letter register to become a bidder.
So I am standing there by this table holding the Franklin puppet, a stuffed gorilla, a stuffed seal -- and I'm standing with two people in banana stand aprons, a girl in a SLUT shirt and another in a pink power bitch skirt suit. If anyone had never seen Arrested Development, they were probably like, "...what?"
He came back with his number, bid on both puppets and we were on our way.
We met up with Erin, Ronnie, Chip, Jeremy, Beth and Roger and chilled out on the main floor of the Hilton for a bit while Jeremy took photos. Erin got a family shot of us here, lol.

Now it's time for super excitement cause after Arrested Development it was time to go to THE AQUARIUM!
Nate and I changed into Guybrush Threepwood and Elaine Marley from The Secret of Monkey Island and headed down with Sara to the shuttle stop (Valerie and Brian were meeting us there and Ashley was skipping animos to help with the Star Trek World Record Attempt WHICH THEY ACHIEVED, I BELIEVE~ XD). I was wearing my brown boots, but brought my flip-flops with me, which was definitely a smart move. I ended up staying in those all night, lol.
There were 39482948 people at the shuttle stop and it seemed so much easier to walk, so I changed my shoes on the Marriott steps by the poo lion statues and we headed off down the street to the Georgia Aquarium, where we met up with Valerie and Brian inside. Erin, Jeremy, Beth and Roger were already there and we ran into them and chilled with them a couple times that night - it was VERY CHILL. I love the D*C night at the Aquarium for that reason, it's all so chill.
Sara, Valerie, Brian, Nate and I went to get food first and took our noms upstairs where we ate and people watched and saw the people with the awesome jellyfish umbrellas. I wasn't able to get a good picture of them, but here is one of the guys who had one - he was fixing the jellyfish's brain. :D

LOL Sara has been to the Aquarium for the past three years and every year they say, "The dolphin exhibit will be open the next time you're here!" Then we saw this sign. You can see what Sara thought of it "being open next time she visits"~
We saw this mermaid you could sit on. We told Nate to go sit on it. Doesn't he look thrilled?

After sitting at the whale shark tank foreverrrrrr <333333 we got kicked out the aquarium since it was closing and we all made our way back (with other herds of nerds) towards the hotels. Nate and Sara wanted to stop in a liquor store, so the two of them go in one while Valerie, Brian and I wait outside. I can see Nate looking at all the shelves, rubber chicken with a pulley in the middle in his hand. It was pretty awesome.
WOOOO!

So the three of us were standing outside and these two guys walk up and they're extremely loud and one of them is all, "I'M GONNA BUY A 40." And he goes in and starts yelling to the guy "HAY I JUST WANT TO BUY A 40!" Meanwhile, the other guy is waiting outside and talking to himself and inching closer to us and blabbing and suddenly we hear, "Evening, sir. What's going on here?" There are now two cops hovering over this dude.
"Uh... uh... nothing."
"Who's that in there?"
"That's my partner... he's uh..."
So the dude walks into the store with the cops and he says to his 40 FRIEND, "Do you really need this right now? We should go."
And they end up hurrying out of the store and up the street towards the hotels yelling about something. The cops end up following them. Valerie was telling me to look at something and I was scared to look over, but when I finally did I saw a dude in just a towel with them hurrying up the street. My mind at first was like, "LOL HAS TO BE AN OLD SPICE GUY." --but no. It was a random dude they knew... just wearing a towel around his waist.
Nate and Sara came back outside to three faces like O_O and we told them what happened as we walked back to the hotels. We got back to the room to find Ashley and THE DAWN CONTEST! Which we all sat down and watched. Erin and I were texting back and forth comments as well, since they were watching it in their room too.
Valerie got a couple more pictures of the Monkey Island costumes before her and Brian headed out and we changed into comfy clothes. I got a couple shots of Ashley in her Star Trek uniform before she changed and headed out to the dance and then I passed out cause I was totally exhausted. XD
