WOOOO! Tenel Ka is on the back cover of Conviction! AND SHE HAS NEW CLOTHES (and looks so angry and purty oh man). You know what this means - I need your helpsssss. XD
Now, I have sort of ideas on all this, but I wanted to get some ideas from you bros as well cause I'm sure mine are somewhat ghetto, lololol.
1.) THE BOTTOM. So we see possible scaleness on the sleeves - which is the whole ARMOR WARRIOR THING so then would the rest of the outfit be warriorish too? Pants and belts and boots and pouches and such? Or is the flowy thing an actual dress instead of a jacket/loose robe? I thought a dress could be pretty but it might look a little goofy with the warrior sleeves...? MAYBE? WHAT IS THE BOTTOM?
2.) THE COLORS. What colors does everyone see in that thing (sleeves, top, chain, etc.) since it's obviously not all red, hahah~ XD
3.) THE SLEEVES. Look too small to be the scales I have lolol. I could make them out of fabric, perhaps? I have to find a good pattern on said fabric though - or maybe paint/sew together different fabrics. OH MAN

As awesome as I think a gown would look, the fact that she has her saber on makes me think she's in something a little more practical. I was thinking maybe the top is kind of like a long jacket that maybe looks like a gown when you stand still but all the fabric goes crazy when walking and you can see the leggings and boots. AND HER LIGHTSABER COLOR YESSSSS, it's so gorgeous! She has the best color! ^_^

As for costume ideas, the sleeves look like they might be snake skin. Kinda smooth and soft like an actual snake. As for the long drape type thing, to me it looks like the purple drape like thingy that Leia wore on Cloud City after they arrived and got settled into their quarters.
Just my opinion. I know, I am no help whatsoever...

...and I'm thinking a light/pale blue, and the sleeves are dark green or brownish snackskin.
(haha I meant "snakeskin", but "snackskin" is the best typo. totally leaving that there.)
Personally, I see this as a dress, especially with that ridiculous up-do, and the circlet. I'm kind of thinking that the top that we see is a sort of jacket/coverlet that is closed, with maybe a pretty design, at the chest, but opens up at the waist, to reveal a straight black skirt, or else really classy leggings/tight pants, with high-heeled boots. So I dunno, even if you went with leggings/pants, the jacket thing could still close at least partially to make it look dressy and almost like a gown? Like a faux-gown?
DOES ANY OF THAT MAKE SENSE LOLZ. I could try to draw it, but my drawings are AWFUL. But if you'd like, I can try XD;
...and is it awful that the first thing I noticed was how smoky and dramatic her eye makeup was?!?! XD GIRL, WE GONNA DO YO FACE UP. It's gonna be sweet.
(you're so lucky you have the hair for this, cuz there's no way that would happen with a wig, omg.)

I was thinking a dress yeah, but then once I thought of leggings and now that you're saying this I am kind of thinking like a long jacket clasped in the front and the jacket is almost to the ground and maybe really flowy with all kinds of flowy fabrics and maybe some SNACKSKIN thrown in -- then while walking, the fabrics would go all around and you'd see the leggings and the heeled boots! Then when standing still it might appear to be like a dress? YOUR MADE SENSE, DOES THIS MAKE SENSE LOLOLOL XDDDDD

Another thing is the fact that she has her lightsaber - in a super pretty and fitting gown there would be no lightsaber/fighting. WITHOUT TRIPPING AND FALLING HAHA XD Plus with a dress I couldn't have the FANCY HEELED QUEEN BOOTS

I need to figure out Tahiri now. I was thinking, just for cheapness's sake (x_x), that the top would be just a short sleeve button-up thing, with like a black tank under it, and some loose black slacks, like what I prisoner would wear. Is that too plain? >_> Also, you see her outfit at black, right? OR DO YOU??? I always thought of it as black, but I guess it could be a dark blue or something as well.
There needs to be a resource on GA prisons so I can figure this out haha.

Date: 2011-03-17 12:12 am (UTC)As for the sleeves, why not find a snake skin fabric. I know there are some awesome ones (or at least there are at the fabric outlet I have near me). I'm sure there is a "sequiny" snake skin look you can use.
As for colors... I'd say either python or boa constrictor style since there is a pattern, though I think black anaconda scales would be cool. Or a really vibrant green.

Date: 2011-03-17 03:19 am (UTC)As far as skirts are concerned, I could see a modified ao dai being used to get the skirt allusion but also having pants underneath. I kinda want to make a Jedi costume with that concept because my Jedi Master character wears something like that.
The other option is snake skin body paint >.> But that is probably something much more suited for a masquerade when you take the time to put it all on and are going to be in that for awhile.
