DRAGON*CON 2011 - Saturday

tenel_kaLots of photos here - basically our day consisted of being lazy in the morning, being lazy while Ashley painted John green, going out and putzing around in Star Wars Genderswap costumes, being lazy and napping, getting into BioShock Costumes, going to the Aquarium and theeeeeeeen being lazy and passing out once we were back.
Our biggest giddy moment of the day was the fact that Irrational Games (one of the companies behind BioShock) had employees at the Aquarium taking photos of BioShock cosplayers! It was amazing - the employees were super nice and they gave all the costumers BioShock swag and took photos for their site and everything. All the costumers there were really cool and the whole thing really made everyone's night. XD
Y HALLO THAR
Ashley woke up early to go with John and Kevin to the parade. I can't remember what time we crawled out of bed but I took a quick shower and when I got out, Sara let me know we could see the end of the parade from our window (we were across the street from where the parade went into the turnaround in the Marriott XD)~! So Sara and I watched some of it and left Nate in bed while we ran downstairs to get food before it was over and the masses swarmed back inside. Hehe.
Once we got were all back upstairs, John realized it was time for him to put man!Oola on and was kind of hesitant. Ashley told him it would be nothing and it would be fine so he got all his clothes and she started GREENING HIM UP!
I think I sort of napped here while watching D*C TV while John was getting painted. Once he was ready, we contacted Erin and we all got ready the rest of the way. Then it was time for some goofing off!
First, we saw this awesome MAURICE MOSS! He was in character and even had the mug with his picture on the bottom. XDDDD
AND THEN:
Jeremy took us outside (and Beth watched our crap THANK YOU BEEETTTHHHH) to get some photos and got some really awesome ones of everyone. THANK YOU, JEREMY! :D

So that was awesome. And we got a lot of cackles from people once they realized what we were while walking around together. Hehe. There were some people who wanted photos of just John too. MAN!OOLA HAS SUCH A FANCLUB.
We got back to the room and figured we should start getting ready for BioShock costumes at the Georgia Aquarium! After we were lazy for a bit, of course lol.
Ashley did cuts and nasty gashes and stuff on John and Kevin and herself for their splicers and it all looked really good. She also helped Nate put his fake mustache on, haha. We headed down to where the line for the shuttle was and it was realllllly long. Then we heard the line was out front - so we moved out there and got in another line. We stood there for 15 - 20 minutes (we were supposed to be there at 7 to meet other BioShock cosplayers and it was already like... 8) and finally settled on a plan. Ashley said her shoes were fine for walking so her and Kevin and John walked to the aquarium and I took a taxi with Nate.
We're in a taxi with a fan and a golf club, him dressed in a suit with a fake mustache and me in a corset, blonde wig and ass ruffles. Not to mention my Converse sneakers (I brought my heels to change into). I'm sure there were a lot of costumers in taxis that night, but it just felt so funny. XD
We finally got there and met up with Ashley, Kevin and John -- and Ashley and I were kind of bitter cause of how long it took and how we were sweaty and gross and John and Kevin's makeup (aka Ashley's hard work) had sweated off and how we probably missed all the BioShock people and the Irrational people... so we all saw the dolphins (and saw Roger and Beth in the dolphin section too!) then we got dinner and Ashley and I stewed for a bit (WE STEEEEEEEEWED D:).
The stewing ended though when we were done with dinner. I stood up and someone approached me for a picture. I said "Sure thing!" - and we started walking towards a tank that I could stand in front of -- this was when I was tapped on the shoulder and turned around to see one of the Irrational Games employees! She asked if I was dressed as Jasmine Jolene from BioShock and I said yes and we talked for a bit and she introduced me to the other employee with her and the photographer they brought along (they were all so nice!) and she asked if I knew of any others. I directed her to the table and said, "ANDREW RYAN AND THREE SPLICERS OVER THERE!" She cackled and went to find them to talk to them while the photographer got a couple photos of me.
We met up with all the other BS cosplayers and the IG employees around ten and got a lot more photos of all the people and the group and so on. It was so much fun and HOLY CRAP SUCH AN AMAZING NERD FEST. <3 One of the IG employees said she had never seen a Jasmine Jolene cosplayer before and said I did a good job and I was all "kdjfkasdjfka thank you so much ;-;" - it was such a sweet thing for her to say and I got all "derp derp thanku herffff" and started mumbling and crap cause I am so awkward ANYWAYS. PHOTOS!

And you know I couldn't post aquarium photos without one of my favorite GIANT CRABS!!1
And the adorable fish in the tank with them.
Here is a darling Little Sister with a Subject Delta. She was singing one of the songs the Little Sisters sing in the game. SO CUTE.
Ashley looks so evil in this photo and I love it.
I also love this random shot I got cause of her face. She makes the best faces (PUT US TOGETHER AND YOU GET EXPRESSION EXPLOSION). XD

Aaaaaand I put back on my Converse before we were about to head back. My makeup looked like crap at this point and I was a mess but I don't even care IT WAS ALL WORTH IT. I think I should just always wear these shoes with this costume now. Yup.

The group! I'm really mad my photo of Bubbles didn't come out - she is someone I've talked to for a bit on cosplay.com and I met her at the aquarium and she was so funny and we were so giddy about everything~ IG got an AMAZING photo of her though -- THIS! <3333
Needless to say, our crappy moods were lightened so, so much by the time we left the aquarium and we had grins on our faces for the rest of the night. It was such an awesome experience to be there with a bunch of BioShock fans. :D
(Random question: Why was the aquarium open to the public as well as D*C people this year? Usually they just have it open for D*C people -- what changed this year?)
